The Path

If you are a professing Christian (follower of Christ), then you should already be walking The Path.

The narrow one, right?

“Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:14‬ ‬‬

In essence, your path began when you accepted Jesus (Yeshua) to be your Lord and Savior and will peak when you meet Him face to face to live out eternity. There is no better ending than that, but let's take a look at the journey in between.

We embark on our walk by opening the door to Jesus and submitting our will to His. Everyone starts at different points on the path depending on the work God has already done in our lives. As we sojourn this path, it will take us closer to our destination and will contain many illuminations and revelations to discover along the way. It is a long, challenging road with new truths for us to embrace as The Word is explored.

Much like regular walking, we all move at different speeds. This sometimes causes confusion and disconnection within the body of believers. If we are all headed towards the same goal; eternity with God, then shouldn't our focus be more about encouraging one another to keep moving rather than having contentions about who is further along?

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:25

Let me share an example of what I mean.

Interstate I-75 goes from Florida (south) to Michigan (north). Let's say that Florida is the starting point and Michigan is our destination as we parallel this to our walk with God.

For instance, let's say on this road that one person is in Georgia and another is in Ohio. Is the person in Georgia any less right in his direction than someone who is in Ohio? Of course not.

Then why is there so much hostility within the body simply for being in a different state?

Are you with me?

Now, on the other side of this issue, am I saying that we are all good just because we are somewhere on this path/ road (I-75)? Absolutely Not!

A path is made for leading us somewhere and we need to follow The Father's GPS (God's Plan for Salvation) in order to finish the race. It is important that we keep moving.

If you are sitting comfortably at a "rest stop", then you are stagnant and becoming lukewarm.

So then, because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3;16

Balancing both sides of this equation will help us interact more productively as a part of the body of Christ. Consider this, did you always know as much about God as you do today?

Where were you on this path a year ago?

Five years ago?

Ten years ago?

Where will you be in one year?

The direction we walk is more important than our current location. Just be certain to use The Bible as your compass and keep moving!

God has so much more that He wants to show you, but you won't find it sitting still.

Encourage those behind you and be encouraged by those ahead of you.

Stay on The Path.
